Electro Tutor
by Dave and Robert Durnford
of Hayes, Middlesex

A pseudo 'Pilatus Porter' is how Dave
describes his ET as built by his 9
year old son and himself for review in
Electric Flight International magazine.

Motive power is a Graupner Speed
600 FG3 (3:1 ratio) driven by an 8 cell
battery. Propellor is a Master Electric
Wood 10 x 8.
This combination give easy take-offs
from reasonable grass and a good climb

IronSE5 by Ian Savage
of Farnborough, Hampshire

Take a standard IRONIC kit and a
dose of imagination... here's the result

Ian re-shaped the tailplane, fin/rudder
and forward fuselage to get that 'SE' look

Power is by an Aeronaut '400' 6v
on a 3:1 gearbox, Robbe 12A speed
controller, 10.5x6 folder or similar
wood prop. AUW is 24 to 26oz. Hitec
555 Rx, 2x Hitec HS80 servos on
ailerons & elevator.
Ian says she will loop from level on 1/2
throttle and is a delight to handle.

SkyBug modified by
Des Charlton of Faversham

Being a balsa lover Des substituted
the foam wing & tailplane with open
frame structures. The wing area being
increased by approx. 20sq.in. covered
with 'Litespan'. No bracing required.

Motor is a Graupner Speed 400 7.2v on a Mini Olympus 2.3:1 gearbox, 8x6
'Slimprop', 7 cell 'AA' Sanyo's. Des says flying is a dream & she thermals well.

SkyBug modified by
Frank Atkinson of Llangadog

Another angle on the SkyBug. Frank
added foam polyhedral tips, 7 3/4"
span tapered to 4 3/4". Standard
bracing wires are sufficient.

Power is the usual '400' driving a Gunthur prop., 7 Sanyo 'AA' cells. Flying is
delightful (says Frank), ROG's, thermals well and it has been 'slope soared'.

I must cut some tip panels as an optional extra....
